A look at the world from a sometimes sarcastic, sometimes tongue-in-cheek, decidedly American male perspective. Lately, this blog has been mostly about gender issues, dating, marriage, divorce, sex, and parenting via analyzing talk radio, advice columns, news stories, religion, and pop culture in general. We believe that the Bible is right, life begins at conception, and government should be limited instead of being our parent. Don't take us too seriously and read at your own risk.

I am happily married to my hubby and I guess that puts us in the minority. I have no expectations from my hubby. This year we are going to a wine and cheese party with other happily married couples. We will probably cook something extra special together to bring (we love being in the kitchen together). The lesson to the ladies (I guess) is to back off! Do something together you both love doing...a hike...a sporting event...a movie (and not just a chick flick - save that for your girlfriends)...wine and food...
Most women that I know aren't big on Valentines Day. Most women that I know view it as a commercial event primarily for Hallmark and florists to make an unrealistic amount of money by making men feel guilty.
I actually tell my husband that I don't want flowers and I mean it. We usually have a nice dinner that I prepare - quiet, romantic where we talk about our day, our lives, our goals.
I think a day for lovers should be every day, not just February 14th.
