Stories like this one are all too common, and unfortunately, only one time is too many. In this article by Rachanee Srisavasdi (try saying that one five times fast) and Larry Welborn in the Orange County Register, we read about one Rodrigo Soto of La Habra, California, who has been found guilty (second-degree murder) of beating his 4-year-old stepdaughter to death.
Now, there are decent, upstanding men out there who become stepfathers and love those kids and are great fathers. However, statistics indicate that a child is more likely to be abused or killed if they are exposed to a stepfather or mother's boyfriend (especially shack-up). This is one reason why child-priority people like Dr. Laura advise against unmarried parents dating until their children are grown.
Rodrigo Soto, 26, faces 25 years to life in prison for the Oct. 19, 2005, death of Madison Haley Greenlee when he is sentenced by Orange County Superior Court Judge Carla Singer on July 31. He also was convicted of felony child assault.The "mother" - Kiera Risch - was apparently not home when the murder took place.
She had between 75 and 100 injuries to her body – inflicted in the days and weeks before her death, according to testimony.I don't see how anyone can read things like this and deny the fact that evil is real. That little girl was tortured. We don't treat terrorists in our custody like that – she probably would have preferred to be waterboarded.
The guy committed evil. And the "mother" either directly abused her child herself or turned a blind eye to the abuse inflicted by the guy – meaning that she committed evil herself. Unnamed is the guy who knocked up Risch and left his daughter in her care, although he may have had little choice in the matter after her conception – but shame on him at least for knocking up a woman like that. More shame to him if he could have saved this girl, but abandoned her instead.
When you choose to make a child, you are entering into a partnership with God. When you abuse that child, you are not only attacking the child, you are spitting in the face of God. And you'd better get on your knees, repent, and beg for mercy.
first off I was with Kiera's brother for 21 yrs, during this time we heard nothing but terrible things about what Kiera did and all the different men she was with the lifestyle of Kiera has always been drug or alchol related that little girls (Maddison) father is in prison serving a life sentance for murder a criminal all of his life as well as the fathers of the other 3 girls he also did time for molesting his eldest dauthter from another woman whom we dont know Kiera has four daughters all from different men, she has been having babies since the age of fourteen Kiera had a biological father who was abusive but left the family when she was just a toddler,her step father is a good and decent man who has tried very hard to do right for Kiera her brother and mother. Kiera was told several times to leave that man (Soto) and she refused. all because she did not want her father to be right again sbout her choices in men, That little girl died because of the neglict of the mother father and step father.Me and my children left her brother due to Domestic violance and child endangerment. I will not let my children be hurt by a man or anyone else for that matter. I believe all three of them should have rot in prison for the death of this little girl. Her mother has always been unstalbe and the grandma an enabler.

ReplyDeleteALene who wrote that is a compulsive liar and has been in and out of prison. She is a horrorable mother herself. She leaves her kids to take care of themselves while she'd go whoring around. I've known Kiera 21 years and she is a fantastic mother and her kids love her more than anything in the world. In amatter of fact every kid that comes around her loves her. She is one of the sweetest people one could ever meet. people have always taken advantage of her because of her kindness. People like arleen are scumbags and try to bring her down and hurt her. All you people out there know nothing about this case. I was by her side everyday and I know the facts on all of this.For instance how the scumbag D.A. Larry Yellen said to her I know you are innocent but I want to make an example of you. Just to put a notch on his belt. Also when you are in fear it changes the game. Battered women don't always have the way to go. Her parent arn't as great as made out to be. Kiera asked her parents to help her they said you made your bed sleep in it. When they finally did decide to it was too late. Had they had helped when asked Maddy would still be here.
