Don't Date Women With Minor Children

The most popular entry on this blog, and it's not even close, is this entry warning men against dating single mothers.

It gets a lot of traffic and has received hundreds of comments (including from widowed mothers, who really need to read THIS.)

As is to be expected, a lot of angry comments came from single mothers. Others admitted what I wrote was true, even if they didn't like it. Nobody, though, demonstrated what I wrote to be false. That's because it is reality, like it or not.

I want to revisit the issue. Guys: If you're going to bother dating (or seeing for personal reasons) women, don't date women with minor children or dependent adult children or grown children living at home. They could be divorced women, widowed women, women who never bothered to marry. And if they're married or in a relationship, no matter what they say about that relationship, it's not good to go there. So don't mess with mothers of minor or somehow dependent children. And if you're with one and don't have a kid with her, get out!

Maybe you think that eliminates too many women, but it really doesn't, especially if you're sticking to women in their twenties, which you can do no matter how old you are, if you play your cards right. Also, there are more and more women older than that who are childfree. "Fertility" rates are down.


Being with a woman with dependent, problematic, or at-home children means you'll be spending more time, money, and energy doing things you don't want to do. It means fewer options, less sex, and more drama.

If you're just looking for sex, her children will get in the way.

If you're looking for companionship/a relationship, her children will get in the way and make everything more difficult and expensive.

If you're looking for a wife (and you shouldn't be, but if you are), especially if you want children, her children will get in the way, make everything more difficult and expensive, and 70 percent of such marriages divorce (and the rest aren't all happy).

Her kids don't need you complicating their lives.

If you want to be with women or a woman, there are women out there who have what you want and don't have the baggage.

Is there ever an exception? Yes. IF YOU'VE HAD A VASECTOMY THATS BEEN TESTED AT LEAST TWICE, you can go be a booty call to a mother as a slumpbuster or because you have a hole in your schedule without someone more desirable to fill it. But you should have ZERO interaction with any child of hers or any child residing with her, and you should have exhausted all of your other contacts that you haven't seen in the last week.

You can't always verify a woman is child-free, but most who are mothers will reveal it rather quickly.

"But what about the father of the kids? She wouldn't be a mother without him!" Not our problem. The guy should have had a vasectomy. But we're not interested in dating him, so we're not wasting time talking about him. And remember: Her body, her choice!

And if my male readers already have kids, that's all the more reason not to get involved with a mother. Your kids don't need to deal with her or have your money going to her.
