L.A. Area ERs Closing

Pasadena Star-News - Panelists Sound Warning Over ER Closures

Quote:
>>PASADENA - Anticipating the eleventh major emergency room closure in five years next month, experts joined KPCC-FM "Air Talk" host Larry Mantle at Huntington Hospital on Friday to discuss what they called a "crisis" in the state of trauma care in Los Angeles County.

"In the early 1980s, there were 23 emergency rooms in the county," said Stephen Ralph, president and chief executive officer of the hospital. "Now there are 13 or 14. Bottom line, we need an infusion of funding."<<

Uh, no. We need more free-market policies in medical care, and we need to get serious about discouraging illegal aliens from coming to the Los Angeles area. Let's get real about our ERs. They are filled with people who have invaded this country.
